OREXA: Increased feed consumption in suckling piglets and in the first 2-3 days after weaning.
This project, now completed, has been the germ of Suinet Orexa, a feed with a "solid-pasty" structure that, during lactation, grants earlier initiation of feed intake and much higher cumulative feed consumption (up to 800-900g/ piglet at 28 days). This implies heavier and better fitted piglets at weaning.
Offered after weaning, it allows to elude the characteristic fall of intake in the first 2 days and to preserve intestinal functionality.
