BEEFMETAREDUCTION
BeefMetaReduction: Reduction of ruminal methane emissions in beef intensive production through feeding.
The project explores 2 strategies:
• Reduction of the ratio CH4/gain as a consequence of an improvement in feed efficiency through the use of different types of enzymes.
• Testing of various sources of unsaturated fatty acids and their impact on ruminal CH4 production, both in vitro and in vivo.
The trial will permit to quantify CH4 emissions in the Spanish farm circumstances and determine the effect of each enzyme and the various sources of fat in reducing emissions.
